The Company is profitable with less than 20 employees and working hard to built the biggest musical-based social gaming network on the iPhone and other next generation mobile devices.

Tapulous is looking to hire a great Engineer to join our expanding team of rockstar iPhone developers Our business is expanding and we need an up-and-coming iPhone Engineer to compliment the team. You are likely a recent graduate from a top engineering school, or a self-taught computer genius, looking to be part of something big. You will work hand-in-hand with a seasoned engineering team that has a combined 25 years of experience at Apple.

You will be expected to be a self-starter and a fast learner, but you will also be coached by some of the best in the business. We pride ourselves on not just making great products, but writing clean, professional code. You’ll gain tons of experience in a fast-paced environment, and have a lot of ownership over what you do, to a degree largely impossible at bigger companies.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Participating in our weekly process, loosely based on Scrum methodology, which includes setting goals, working towards completing them, keeping the team apprised of your progress, and showing off what you’ve accomplished at week’s end
  • Working on features in our iPhone games and applications, which could include any number of cool things to do with location, social networks (ours and 3rd party networks like Twitter and Facebook), music & sound, incorporation of user-generated content, tying our client code to critical server-side functionality, and just about anything else you can think of to do with the rich iPhone SDK API
  • Interacting daily with the systems that are used in professional software development: bug tracking, source control, etc.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated fluency in a compiled language
  • Exposure to Objective-C, ideally though a some commercial experience (Mac OS X and/or iPhone), a university class, or independent iPhone application development
  • Excitement about working in a fast-moving, high-profile start-up. You’ll be writing code that will be shipped in a matter of days and weeks to millions of people. With that comes times where there are less predictable work hours, and problems that require more inventiveness to make up for somewhat fewer resources. If you have Macgyver-like tendencies, we’ll put them to good use.

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
